Kainisch and surroundings
Our house is located in the village of Kainisch (Salzkammergut), near the municipality of Bad Mitterndorf, surrounded by forests and mountains and next to a nature reserve. Kainisch is located in the beautiful vast Hinterberg valley.
VillaVoigt is within walking distance of the Ödensee, and it is only a few minutes by car to the villages of Bad Aussee, Grundlsee, Altausee, Hallstatt and Bad Mitterndorf.
In the area are several hills and mountains that you can walk (in the house are hiking maps of the area). In summer, the area is ideal for cycling (you can borrow e-bikes in the various villages), boat trips on one of the three nearby lakes, and hiking.
In winter you can go cross-country skiing in the Hinterberg valley, which has about 190 kilometers of trails. Skiing can be done on the Tauplitz (10 minutes drive) or on der Loser at Altaussee (15 minutes drive). A little further (40 minutes) you can go to Schi-Amadee from Schladming and the Dachstein.
